| Prelate, born in Paris, France. Grand Chaplain of France (1777), he was made cardinal (1778) and Bishop of Strasbourg (1779). He was implicated in the ‘Collier affair’ but acquitted in 1786, and retired in 1791. He was a member of the Académie Française. |
