| Writer, born in Niederwiller, NE France. An aristocrat who was obliged to take up travelling after a scandal, he published Alloys (1829) and L'Espagne sous Ferdinand VII (1838). His Lettres de Russie (1840) and La Russie in 1839 (1843) remain an interesting report on that period. |
