| Painter and graphic artist, born in Okayama, SC Japan. He emigrated to the USA in 1906, where he studied at the Los Angeles School of Art and Design and at the Art Students League, New York City. He then settled in New York. His later work was marked by sinister fantasy, as seen in the well-known canvas, ‘Juggler’ (1952). |
