| biography:
| Musician, born in Girona, NE Spain. While still a child his family emigrated to Cuba, where he studied music. He later settled in the USA, working as a musician and part-time caricaturist for various newspapers. His connection with the cinema was as a violin player in silent films during the 1920s. In order to popularize Latin-American music he formed his own orchestra in 1936, which performed in many Hollywood musical films. In 1972 he returned to Spain and lived in Barcelona, where he devoted his time to painting. |
