| Actor, born in Midland, Texas, USA. He studied at Hanover College, went into the theatre, and became well known for his role as the bartender in the popular television series Cheers (1983–93). His feature films include Indecent Proposal (1993), Natural Born Killers (1994), The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996, Oscar nomination), and The Hi-Lo Country (1999). In 1996 he attracted publicity when he was arrested twice as an activist during events drawing attention to endangered forests. He made his British stage debut in On An Average Day in 2002. |
