| Electrical engineer and inventor, born in Buffalo, New York, USA. A World War 2 veteran, he studied electrical engineering at Cornell University (1950) and went on to invent the first implantable cardiac pacemaker. He subsequently developed advanced pacemakers and pacemaker power sources. His Greatbatch Enterprises manufactures the majority of the world's pacemaker batteries. |
