| Judge and legal historian. He studied at Cobourg Collegiate Institute, Victoria University, and Syracuse University, and was judge of the High Court of Ontario from 1906, and of the Supreme Court of Canada from 1917. A prolific writer, he made notable contributions to Canadian history, particularly legal history, such as The Legal Profession of Upper Canada in Its Early Years (1916) and The Bar and the Courts of the Province of Upper Canada or Ontario (1928). |
