| biography:
| Journalist and historian, born in Templemore, Co Tipperary, SC Ireland. He worked in London as a journalist, but returned to Ireland to edit the Irish Peasant and other journals (1906–11), before going back to London as assistant editor of the Daily Herald. His contemporary histories include The Irish Literary Revival (1894) and The Irish Labour Movement (1919). In later life he wrote in Irish, his works including a study of European contributions to Gaelic scholarship, Gaelachas i Gléin (1933). |
