| Painter, born in Albany, New York, USA. He was a student of Samuel F B Morse in New York (1826), travelled to Italy (1849–60), and settled in Tottenville, Staten Island, NY. Few paintings survive, but his haunting portrait, ‘Mrs William Page’ (1860), is a notable example. |
