| Potter, born in Staffordshire, C England, UK. In 1913 he set up his own firm in Burslem, producing a range of white-bodied ceramics decorated with stylized flowers and leaves, titled ‘Florian Ware’. More colourful were his ‘Hazledene’ (landscape and trees) and ‘Claremont’ (toadstools). His main interest, however, was the flambé glaze, and he won many prizes for his work in Paris, Brussels, and America. In 1928 he was appointed Potter to the Crown. |
