| biography:
| Painter, sculptor, and potter, born in Murrumbeena, Victoria, SE Australia, the younger son of Merric Boyd. He studied at the National Gallery of Victoria Art School and at Rosebud, Victoria. After the war he exhibited with the Contemporary Arts Society in Melbourne, then returned to Murrumbeena and the pottery established by his father, where he worked with his brother-in-law John Perceval. He moved to London in 1959, and took up a fellowship in creative arts at the Australian National University, Canberra, in 1972. In 1993 he gave his 1000 ha property ‘Bundanon’ as a gift to Australia. |
