| biography:
| Journalist and publisher, born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, USA. He graduated from Ohio State University's new journalism programme (1912) and worked for the Associated Press (1914–20). Beginning with a one-page weekly, The Kiplinger Washington Letter (1923), he added a series of newsletters focusing on economic and business affairs, and in 1947 started the monthly magazine Changing Times. He organized the Washington Journalism Center in 1965. |
