| Designer of glassware and ceramics, born in Bremen, NW Germany. He studied, and later taught, at the Bauhaus, and has remained faithful to the principles which it enshrined. His designs are simple, unadorned, and functional. Best known are those for mass-produced glass, and for Rosenthal ceramics. He taught during much of his career, thus extending his influence as a designer. |
