| Canadian architect, born in Tokyo, Japan. He practised as an architect from 1929, studying in Canada and London, and in 1933 formed the MARS group of architects. He was responsible for the design of the BBC studios, the EKCO laboratories, and many other buildings in Great Britain and in Canada, and he also played an important part in the development of industrial design. He was one of the principal figures of the modern movement in architecture. |
