| Writer, born in Alvechurch, Worcestershire, WC England, UK. She studied at the University of St Andrews, and worked as an advertising copywriter before becoming a full-time author, writing novels, short stories, and television plays. Her work deals with contemporary feminist themes, as in Female Friends (1975) and Puffball (1980), and caustic satires of male-dominated society, as in The Hearts and Lives Of Men (1987) and Darcy's Utopia (1989). Later books include Wicked Women (1995) and Big Girls Don't Cry (1998). |
