| Writer, born in Warwick, Warwickshire, C England, UK. He was sent down from both Rugby School and Trinity College, Oxford, but despite this and his difficult character, he became an outstanding classicist. He published Poems in 1795, Citation and Examination of William Shakespeare (1834), and Hellenics (1847). His best-known work is the prose dialogue Imaginary Conversations (1824–9). |
