| Aviation manufacturer, born in Pulaski, Tennessee, USA. After service in the US Army as a test pilot, in 1932 he organized his first aircraft company, Travel Air, then founded the Beech Aircraft Company, which incorporated in 1936. During World War 2 the company produced over 7000 planes, including Model 18 twin engines. |
