| Mining prospector, possibly born in Cynthiana, Kentucky, USA. His birthplace and early life were mysterious. He rode for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and convinced many people that he had discovered a rich gold mine in Death Valley. Supported and financed by the millionaire Albert M Johnson, he built Scotty's Castle, which became a tourist attraction in Death Valley. |
