| Italian politician, born in Alessandria, Piedmont, NW Italy. Under the name ‘Colonel Valerio’ he fought in the Resistenza, and organized the execution by firing squad of Benito Mussolini and his mistress Claretta Petacci on 28 May 1945. A communist, he was first a deputy then a senator of the Italian parliament. |
