| biography:
| Conspirator, born in Tupholme, Lincolnshire, EC England, UK. He served in the army, but, full of revolutionary ideas from his time in America and France, organized a mutiny at Spa Fields (1816). In 1820 he planned the Cato Street Conspiracy to murder Castlereagh and other ministers who were dining at the Earl of Harrowby's house. The conspirators were intercepted, and he was, with four others, convicted of high treason and hanged. |
