| biography:
| Coach of American football, born in New York City, USA. Although a noted offensive guard in his playing days with Fordham University, he was better known as a coach. He started in professional leagues by coaching offence for the New York Giants (1954–9), but his best work was done with the Green Bay Packers from Wisconsin (1959–69), with whom he lifted five league titles and took them successfully to two Super Bowls (1967–8). The Super Bowl trophy is named after him. |
