| Actress, born in London, UK. At 16 she married the dancer Armand Vestris (1787–1825), the son of Auguste Vestris, but they separated two years later, and she went on the stage in Paris. She appeared at Drury Lane in 1820, becoming famous in a wide range of roles. She was lessee of the Olympic Theatre for nine years, and later managed Covent Garden and the Lyceum. |
