| Geographer, born near Tecumseh, Michigan, USA. He was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin (1911–51). With O E Baker he co-wrote the Atlas of World Agriculture, used for decades as a text for agricultural geography. He contributed much to the dot-map technique and the ‘fractional’ method of representation of landscapes. |
