| biography:
| Gymnast, born in Prague, Czech Republic. She switched from ice skating to gymnastics as a 15 year-old, and went on to win 22 Olympic, world, and European titles. She won three Olympic gold medals in 1964, and four in 1968. She donated her medals one each to the four Czech leaders (Dubcek, Svoboda, Cernik, Smrkorsky) deposed following the Russian invasion. She married Josef Odložil, the Olympic 1500 m silver medallist in the Mexico City Olympics (1968). |
