| Writer, born in Berlin, Germany. His first success as a scriptwriter was with the dramatic sequel to Goethe's novel, Die neuen Leiden des jungen W (1972), which is written in a style reminiscent of J D Salinger's Catcher in the Rye and set in industrial East Germany. He is also known for his filmscript for Paul und Paula (1973), the play Buridans Esel (1976), and for the successful television series Liebling-Kreuzberg about a Berlin lawyer. |
