| Condottiere, born in Casteldelci, Umbria, NC Italy. An aristocrat, he was podestà of Arezzo and led the Romagna Ghibelline league. Appointed imperial vicar in 1312, he ruled Arezzo and then Lucca. He defeated the Guelphs at Montecatini (1315) but, opposed by the merchant class, he fled to Verona (1316). He was podestà of Vicenza in 1317. |
