| Prizefighter and bare-knuckles champion of the world, born in Bitton, South Gloucestershire, SWC England, UK. He twice defeated Jem Belcher for the bare-knuckles championship (1807, 1809), and also defeated the US black pugilist Tom Molineaux (1810, 1811). He retired with an unbeaten record, and became a publican in London. |
