| Physicist, born in Tokyo, Japan. He went to the USA in 1952 to work at Princeton (1952–4), and became a researcher and teacher at Columbia University (1954–64) before joining Cornell (1964). He made significant contributions to quantum electrodynamics and invariance (symmetry law). |
