| Baritone, born in Bassano del Grappa, NE Italy. He studied law at Padua, then took up singing in Rome, making his operatic debut in 1935 at Gubbio. He appeared regularly with the Rome Opera from 1938, and soon made an international reputation, especially in Verdian roles such as Falstaff and Don Carlos. |
