| biography:
| Figurative and landscape artist, born in Sydney, New South Wales, SE Australia. He studied at the National Art School, Sydney, and made working trips to C Australia, producing a series of vivid paintings. His delicate greys, pinks, and blues unite the harsh desert environment with symbolic or domestic trompe l'oeil objects in a blending of Classical and Romantic styles. His Sydney exhibition in 1989 included the powerful ‘Burning of the Gifts’, which shows his continuing preoccupation with fire. |
