| biography:
| Roman noblewoman, the daughter of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and grand-daughter of Emperor Augustus. She married Germanicus Caesar (15 BC–AD 19), and was the mother of Caligula and Agrippina the Younger. Regarded as a model of heroic womanhood, she accompanied her husband on his campaigns. Her popularity incurred the anger of the Emperor Tiberius, who banished her in 29 to the island of Pandateria, where she died of starvation in suspicious circumstances. |
