| Caricaturist, born in London, UK. He studied in London and Paris, then travelled widely in Britain, and became a specialist in humorous watercolours commenting on the social scene. Some of his best-known works are his illustrations to the ‘Dr Syntax’ series (1812–21) and ‘The English Dance of Death’ (1815–16). |
