| Poet, born in Clifton, Bristol, SW England, UK, the eldest son of Thomas Beddoes. He studied at Oxford, and in 1822 published The Bride's Tragedy, a sombre murder drama. From 1825 he was engaged in the composition of a Gothic-Romantic drama, Death's Jest-book, which appeared in 1850, a year after his suicide. |
