| Spiritualist, born in Fenny Stratford, Buckinghamshire, SC England, UK. At the age of three he was taken to America, and in 1843 became a Universalist pastor. In 1850 he set up as a spiritualistic medium, founding the ‘Church of the Good Shepherd’ (c.1858) on doctrines compounded of Swedenborg and Fourier. |
