| Merchant, born in Settle, North Yorkshire, N England, UK. The brother of Richard Bache, he went to New York City in 1751 and ran a mercantile firm - from 1765 in conjunction with his brother. He was a Loyalist during the American Revolution, and his business suffered after 1789. He was governor of New York Hospital. |
