| Writer, born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, SC England, UK. He is best known for his series of fantasy novels, Discworld, which began in 1983 with The Colour of Magic and which had reached a 26th novel, Thief of Time in 2002. The Science of Discworld appeared in 1999, with a second volume in 2002. Other works include the ‘Truckers’ trilogy (called the ‘Bromeliad’ trilogy in the USA), and a series of Johnny Maxwell novels. He received the 2002 Carnegie Medal for Children's Literature for The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents. Several books have been adapted for stage and television. |
