| Religious leader, born in Jerusalem, Palestine (now Israel). She studied at Hunter College (BA) and Columbia University (MA). The leader of the Society of Jewish Science, she was the head of the Congress of Jewish Science and the first woman to occupy a Jewish pulpit in the USA. Her books include What it Means to Be a Jew (1943) and Choosing Your Way to Happiness (1954). |
