| Set designer, born in London, UK. Starting with designs for Dublin's Abbey Theatre (1935–9), she became associated with the Old Vic, the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, and the Stratford (Ontario) Festival. From its opening in 1963, she was affiliated with the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. She also designed a number of London's contemporary West End productions. |
