| Footballer, born in Shepherds Bush, SW London, UK. A left back, he played for Wealdstone and Coventry City before moving to Nottingham Forest (1985–97), where he also acted for a time as player/manager, Newcastle United (1997–9), West Ham (1999), and Manchester City (2001). A member of the World Cup team in 1990, and of the European Cup teams in 1992 and 1996, he won 78 caps for England (captain in 1992). |
