| biography:
| Chemist, born in Oakland, California, USA. He studied at California University and taught there from 1960. His most familiar work concerns the possible origin of life on Earth. He passed electric discharges (similar to miniature thunderstorms) through a mixture of those gases which probably formed the early planetary atmosphere. After some days, analysis showed the presence of some typical organic substances, including amino acids and urea. |
