| In the New Testament, a Gentile companion of the apostle Paul. He is not mentioned in Acts, but is referred to in Galatians 2 and 2 Corinthians 8.6. Ecclesiastical tradition makes him the first Bishop of Crete. The purported Letter of Paul to Titus gives advice on the way the churches there should be organized.
