| biography:
| Frankish clergyman, the son of the Duke of Guienne. He lived a luxurious life, but was converted to Christianity and in 708 became Bishop of Liège. In art he is represented as a hunter converted by the apparition of a crucifix between the horns of a stag. This story may have been borrowed from St Eustace. Feast day 3rd November. |
