| Hermit, born in Tabatha, Palestine. He was educated at Alexandria, where he became a Christian. He lived as a hermit in the desert between Gaza and Egypt from 306, and established the first Palestinian monastery (329), then travelled via Egypt and Sicily to Cyprus. Feast day 21 October. |
