| Hermit, born in Norfolk, England, UK. He worked as a pedlar, mariner (possibly pirate), pilgrim, and seer. From 1110, and for the rest of his long life, he lived as a hermit in a hut at Finchale, on the R Wear near Durham. A priory was later built on the site. Feast day 21 May. |
