| biography:
| Bishop of Salamis, (367–403), born in Bezanduca, Palestine. He devoted most of his life to defending orthodox belief against heresy. His major work Panarion (374–77, Refutation of all Heresies) lacks moderation, but is a valuable source of the history of theology. Feast day 12 May. |
