| Traditional apostle of France, and the first Bishop of Paris, born possibly in Rome. He was sent from Rome c.250 to preach the Gospel to the Gauls. He was martyred at Paris under the Roman Emperor Valerian (reigned 253–60). Feast day 9 October. |
