| Christian martyr, born in Rome, Italy. She is thought to have been killed at Rome c.304 in her 13th year, during the persecutions of Diocletian. She is said to have refused to consider marriage, and consecrated her maidenhood to God. Honoured as the patron saint of virgins, her emblem is a lamb. Feast day 21 January. |
