| Brûlé Sioux leader, born along the White R in present-day South Dakota or near present-day Laramie, Wyoming, USA. A signer of the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868, in which the US government accepted the territorial claims of the Sioux in exchange for peace, he travelled often to Washington, DC as the government-appointed chief of the agency Sioux. |
