| Poet, born in Heletoft, S Denmark. He is generally regarded as the greatest Symbolist poet of his country. He lived for many years in France, where he was influenced by the French Symbolists, but brought a personal eroticism to nearly everything he wrote. He published several volumes of verse, and some plays, and his collected works were published in seven volumes in 1910. |
