| Architect, born in Santiago, Chile. Raised in Boston, she became the first woman graduate (1890) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's architecture course, and went on to design the Women's Building at the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. It was her only completed work in a career cut short by a nervous breakdown. |
